Athir has a lengthy career in the arts, technology, and academic research and holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in tech. Born and bred in Chicago, she enjoys showcasing the city’s hauntingly beautiful bridges, buildings, and industrial structures, as well as the city’s natural beauty, including Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, and the acres of recreational green parks. Athir finds beauty and aesthetics in things that are typically deemed old, ugly, and rusty. She can also be found out on the alternative, art, electronic, grunge, progressive, and hard rock music scene. This is her first time working with a manual camera.

She has taught Intro to Visual Communication Design at Harvard Extension for the past several years and has also taught computer science in Chicago for over two decades.
