ASSIGNMENT 2
DEPTH OF FIELD & APERTURE
SCENE 1
Still life of a Sony Discman Sport, Creepers (Y2K Beanie Babies), Metal Skull & Crossbones Goblet from The Alley Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022. The Discman was set up as the front figure, the Beanie Babie the middle figure, and the goblet as the back figure in a diagonal fashion, about 12 inches apart in Chicago, Illinois, just after noon. REFLECTION
This image seems to offer the best selective focus and maximum depth of field. The detail on the Creepers, Beanie Babie, is in sharp focus, while the metal goblet and Sony Diskman are not.
These all represent things that are no longer what they once were. Or, things that are dead.
SCENE 2
Andy, my husband, patiently stands in Lakeshore East Park as I fumble with my camera and tripod Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022. Lined with curving corridors of trees, which I have termed the "Enchanted Forest" at night, the park is surrounded by historic architecture, including some of the world's tallest buildings, in the New Eastside neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. REFLECTION
This image seems to isolate my subject best due to the maximum depth of field. Had I more time, I would have chosen a different location, instead of opting for convenience.
